Hey guys, been saving since september and finally bought the 404sx yesterday. I read the whole manual and tried all the things it said to do and i understand most of the functions. I just have a some questions for you all.

1. When i make a pattern, how do i make it so that it loops on time?
2. What do you guys recommend i start out with? I dont have a turntable to sample from. Please give me some fun things to work with, been having a lot of fun with the built in mic.
3. What is the difference between using the left and right with an adaptor vs having a speaker with an auxillary, and connecting it to the headphone jack? The panning still works.
4. Might be a noob question but, no way to play more than one pattern at same time? I think i read that you cant once but i forgot.
5. Ive heard that some people finish an entire like 3 minute beat in the 404sx by itself. No DAW, no interface, just the 404sx with a speaker and an sd card. How does one go about finishing a whole beat?

Thanks.

1- press "lenght" and choose the number of bars you want it to last, it should loop by itself once you're done recording the number of bars you assigned. if you have trouble makin it loop on time, try quantizing or just practice and get skilled enough so you can be on time.

2- youtube, mp3's, any audio source really.. (1/8 from computer to 1/4 in mic line in OR 1/8 to rca line in)

3- no big difference.. one is 1/4 and the other is rca..

4- you can't play more than 1 pattern at the same time. id just try to fit in everything you want in 1 pad sequence or copy sequences to make variations and etc..

5- lots of loops and resampling. and at a certain point it really depends on your personnal taste or "feeling" about your beats and what you consider is a "finished beat".

ive been working with the 404sx for a while and i never actually got a finished beat on it. i always have to route the shit in 832849 things, other samplers, computer. audacity, adobe audition etc..

some people can make it really short n sweet while keeping it fairly simple, some others cant.. it only depends on your view of where you want your shit to go.

hope this helps with your questions
