I am trying to devise an optimal performance setup for my SP-555 and Juno Stage. I want to be able to use the SP's pattern sequencer to trigger notes on the Juno while also triggering samples without the two functions interfering. With my current configuration, I have the machines connected with MIDI in and outs and the SP set to THRU. Triggering samples on the SP also triggers notes on the Juno and vise-versa. Is there a way to configure my MIDI settings so this wont happen? Because that would be amazing.

changing the midi channel?

You'd have to be able to use a different midi channel for each pad I think. I know you can't do that on the 404sx. Don't know about the other SPs.

The Sp555 triggers samples across 2 MIDI channels, due to the number of pads....so whatever channel it is set to, 1/2 the samples will be on that +1.
See page 71 here:

What you need to do is set the Juno to *NOT* receive MIDI on whatever 2 channels you set the SP555 to....by default its on 1 and 2, so if you set the Juno to 3 I think that would work...

EDIT: I Read your need again and this may not help you, but hopefully points in the right direction...

This actually might work I'm going to try this today. I think if I use half of the banks on the Sp for samples and the other half for midi notes I should get the right result. Thanks for the help I'll let you know.
