who uses this combo here and how do you like it? i'm trying to figure out if i want another 404 or 303...my main reason for getting another sp is cus i can't add sounds while ext. source is on and it's getting too hard for me to make beats that way, loading the sample into my computer to hear it outloud then recording more to my 404 and then resampling everything together is just a pain.

I have a 2x404 combo, really happy with it, you can do alot:

2 FX simultaneously
using one as a metronome
more control over vinyl sim (volume changes)
if you connect both ins and outs, you can bounce back and forth.. unlit one extsource to avoid feedback

I have a 303 and a 404sx. I haven't really used them much together, but I do love the sound of the 303 and the speed with which i can work the 404sx. Lately I have been working with the 404sx to make loops, then sampling those loops with the 303.

I personally own a 303 and my roommate owns an og404. I make most of my stuff strictly on the 303 now, but the 404 really comes in handy. For instance, the polyphony on the 303 is a straight bitch especially when using the sequencer. BUT, you can always workaround this when a 404 is available by resampling certain sections to the 404 then bouncing them back to the 303 onto one pad (freeing up a couple voices). I feel lucky when it comes to exporting cause having both available lets me totally bypass software. Just load up a track on the 303, record into the 404 and export that pad to the memory card
