I know this question has probably gotten asked millions and trillions of time but i want to know the pur real truth from all of you guys with this combo....WHAT IS THE DIFFERNCE IN THE SOUND BETWEEN THE TWO MACHINES? i heard that the 303 has that warm mpc 60 sound to it and the 404 has a realy fat beefy sound to it....Now i was thinkin once I get my 303 and Mpc 1000 combo I was gonna add an sp 404 to that and use that for all of my drums and sample everything into my mpc because I like the mpc bouncy feel.....the swing settings in it are great IMO....but what do you guys think of the sound between the two? and dosent the sp 404 take the same compact flash cards as the mpc 1000?

303 has what some would say a "grimier" sound due to it's converters which are something strange like 20bit or something (fucking weird).

and yes the 404 and the mpc 1000 take the same cards (compact flash).

but why would you need a 404 if it was only for drums??
seriously, maybe for effects but you can do better drums on the 1000 than on the 303 OR 404. the pads are better (once you get the pad upgrade) and that is a fact.

im one to talk tho, because i have a 404 but am interested in adding a 303 to my setup. its all gone mad.

Just use the search feature if you think your questions already been answered, mostblunted and myself posted a comparison with a beat made on both machines using the exact same samples and sequence.
