Is there a way to adjust the volume of a sample while it's being resampled?
I want a sample to sort'a fade out.

Well it depends on the sampler... with a 303 or 404 you can use the isolator effect to crudely change the volume while resampling.

I'm on a 303/404. The isolater stuff doesn't do it for me.

i don't know if there's another way besides just fading out by using the volume knob on the 303/404 or fade out by using the fader on the dj mixer when sampling in... unless i'm missin' something? anybody else got any ideas for this? 8)

hmmm, I was just thinking about ways to resample a fade out or decay a few days ago. Next time I break out the SP I'm gonna spend a good amount of time to try and figure out a way.

On the 404, there is a workaround.

Turn on the subsonic effect, turn the second knob all the way to the righ (so there will be no bass sound at all). Then use the 3 knob to adjust the ballance. Since there is no bass, only the original sound will be heard. That means that the third knob is fading between 'original sample' and 'no bass (silence)'.

I have yet to find something like that on my 303.

Good tip - that should work on the 555 and 606 too!

It really disappointed me that the 'enveloper' on the 606 only works on the synth and not on samples. I mean, DUH

Yeah that's a good one... It also works good on setting a smooth attack to drums. It's easier to have a lil silence at the end and the beginning of the(drum-)samples... as usual ... I needed a bit of training to get good results but it really works! Subsonic is very flexible.

My enveloper works with samples on my 606; you sure yours doesn't work?

It seems to work on mine too with samples.

mostexaltedmostblunted.

this will change everything - chops with slinky tops and tails.

it only works for 404 and up?

- it's allowed/disallowed for battles(?)

juxt - you want post a ruling?

this tip needs go in the faq - if roland were doing revisions of their manuals it should be in there.

should be A-OK for battles, as it's all kept within the box
