Im having a problem hearing the audio from the sampler out of my mac. Ive connected the roland sp 404 to the m audio fast track via the RCA cables (from line in on the sampler).

I then open logic, and make sure external source is lit on my roland. Logic doesn't recognize anything being input. Am I doing something wrong here? I'm totally new to this.

Thanks.

Lots of possibilities. Did you add an audio track in logic, and then tell that audio track to listen to the same inputs on your m audio? What is the model number on your m audio?

ok. thanks for the response. I added an audio track, the input is set to the fast track.

Model number? mkii m audio fast track. it's the one seen here: http://www.guitarcenter.com/M-Audio-Fas ... e=4WWRWXGB.

Now, I had the RCA cables going from the line in on the sampler to the back of the M audio. the m audio is plugged in via USB.

is there some other way I should do it? I just want to record some of the patterns here onto logic.

Thanks again.

The line in? Are you trying to send Mac sounds to your sampler, and record them with the sampler? You can probably use the headphone jack on your Mac for that.

That's because nothing is coming from the sampler. Use line out for recording. Line in is for sampling and using the SP as an effects box only

Outputs always go to inputs, outputs send audio, inputs recieve audio. Check tweakheadz.com for basic lessons on signal flow
