I wanted to try something new so I made drums from the vocal samples provided for battle 29.

nice vid Juxt. I love making samples into different samples. That was one of the elements when I first got infected with the sp virus. haha

Nice one.. I should get more into this kind of sample manipulation too.
Maybe you could have spoken a bit about what you're doing so it would be more tutorial-ish. (of coz as a true 4o4 h34d I figured it out)

vocal samples as drums is cool as hell.

i got inspired by Roni Size the other day and made a DnB beat with samples of my own voice, recorded into the 555's internal mic. it kinda sucked :? but was a worthy experiment.

** a little off topic, but i should probably explain why i never post audio examples. my PC is riddled with spyware and my soundcard doesn't record incoming audio, so i have to borrow my friend's laptop every time i record, and that's once a blue moon. the stuff i have on Myspace is all FruityLoops, which runs ok despite the spyware and i'm able to export to mp3 and transfer it to a thumb drive, then post it up from my job. it's a pain in the arse but that's what i'm working with until i get my PC redone and a new sound card.

I guess most of work goes into listening what changes in the sound when applying those effects anyways, so it's not like you'll really be able to predict what will happen. At least to some extent. :)

I'd recommend Trend Micro's Online virusscanner or a fresh install of Kaspersky anti-virus software. It's probably not that difficult to get rid of the viruses. I'm assuming you're able to connect to the internet with your PC, but if not, you could also just download a trial version for free, copy to a thumb drive and install at home.

never heard of him so I checked out some tracks on youtube. I recognize some of those tunes, they used to play him on a independent radio station around here. Good stuff.

If you, or a friend, has an installation disk, all you have to do is reformat your computer. It will wipe away all viruses and spyware, along with everything else on your computer. You should save most of your files to a flash drive, if you haven't done so already (spyware and viruses usually only attack programs and main parts of your computer, so project and audio files and documents should be ok). Then just reinstall everything and you will be good to go. once that is all done, look online for the driver for your soundcard, this is assuming that the installation disk didn't have the correct driver.

That's it (I know from experience).

Or, what you really should do is throw out your pc, ......and buy a MAC
