Yeah man, I heard your beats on your myspace, it seems your going for that jazz vibe type of drums. You might want to dedicate at least 4 tracks for drums and the 5th for samples. There's mad tricks for drums to give it a stereo sonic realm. For example you can have the kick and snare on one track, then have hi hat 1 panned hard left on the second track and hi hat 2 panned hard right on the third track, and the forth track could have a cymbal panned to the right but able to hear just a little on the left. Or kick panned at the center, snare panned just a little to the right, and hi hats panned left and right. Just mess around and see what you can get.

Most of the beats on my page I did on the 303 so when I track it, it can only be recorded in stereo so I cant split tracks or nothing the hard thing for me was mixing the volumes on the 303 because you cant see any level you have to go all by ear. When I use ablenton or reason its way easier to mix cause you have all the sounds/instruments in individual tracks which makes it a lot easier to mix. I bought a Behringer UCA202 U-Control Audio Interface to record with my 303 straight to my pc and it works really well everything records the same as it sounds in the 303. The problem was that I was using an old 8 track to record my 303 and I think it did have a phasing issue thanks for all the help fam.
