I actually don't really sample loops. I'll sample a hit, but that's it.

Also, I mostly use a computer (obv with my 404, and other hardware, but whatever)

Word. I've found some real crisp snare samples from the Ktel label.

Wow I didn't know white people smoke crack too , it also sounds like Michael Moore interviewing him. I like how he makes the guy go through the ktel records until he finds one that he can name all the songs.

Buck 65 - Driftwood

I can't stand his high pitch flow but the lyrics on this one are tight and production nostalgic and simple.
here is what I do
1. Radio check out old radio shows in tri-state, NJ Hudson County, I hunt around 89.9, GO on website check playlists
2. Look for albums, favorite is SoulSeek, Once you get into this p2p than you will know why they call it soulseek, find a couple of people with similar interests.
I will like to get my fingers dirty vinyl especially originals from i think 67 cause it aint copy-write infringed
www.recordrama.com
If I was rich I will get the whole collection, Paul Mawhinney, underground hero.
3. Wax Poetics - The diggers magazine, makes Vibe, The Source, or any other "rap" magazine seem redundant.
4. I am looking for a website to get music from like soundclick or twitter fuK i remember finding this one site through AudioTuts.com but forgot the name.
5. Go to Amazon or other sites basically look for artist and branch out by what other people are listening too(Listamania). Look for someone obscure like a Jaco Pastorius, someone that isn't that known, not like James Brown or Mayfield.
5. I feel reluctant to look for pre-sampled goods, Its kinda like cooking you know, you can get the thing pre-made it might taste the same as making it "from scratch" hell it might taste better but you know it ain't the same. Than again you may need to put your ego to the side just to get more sounds. CHEATER! but winner?
--I was making beats for over 4 years on a beat up compaq from like 2000, FL4, and CoolEdit Pro 2.0, the same as 9th Wonder.
Got the blue screen thousands of samples gone, had over 80 beats.
MESSAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!! -Get your ass an external hard drive and back that shit up. I lost a piece of my soul with that one.

That's the truest shit I got a Western Passport, I got all my shit on that.
Its funny how knowing that someone else fucked up the same as you makes you feel a little better that your not the only one who messed up like that. Even though it should bum me out that both of us messed up like that.
