Have read about all the ZIP drive issues but the other night i went to reverse a sample and the disk ejected itself, displayed the usual drive too busy message but then froze, and since then everytime i turn the machine on and insert the disk it just ejects it, i hav to re insert like 4 or 5 times until it accepts it. It also ejects and freezes when i save, when i copy samples and on other occasions. is this the disk itself wearing out or something wrogn with the SP??? helppp!!!

Might be worth noting the drive has been upgraded to 250mb but im using 100mb disks as thats all i have atm.

Well theres your problem. You wouldn't put iced tea in a gas tank. Try and get some 250mb disk and if you have the same problem, then i dont know. You say it accepted it, thats weird, maybe since you tried to get it in a few times, it gave up and said fuck and allowed it in but it wont save or anything.

Compatibility

Higher capacity Zip disks must be used in a drive with at least the same capacity ability. Higher capacity drives can read lower capacity media. The 250 MB drive writes much more slowly to 100 MB disks than the 100 MB drive, and is unable to perform a "long" (thorough) format on a 100 MB disk. The 750 MB drive cannot write to 100 MB disks but can read existing disks, though they are the cheapest and most common of the three formats.
The retroreflective spot differs on the three media sizes such that if a larger disk is inserted in a smaller capacity drive, the disk is immediately ejected again without any attempt being made to access the disk.

Now, IDK if SP's OS are able to determine if the 250MB drive could read 100MB, you need to ask that on the 808 thread I believe.
