due to my age i'm not into it absolutely, but i could became fan of this little toy, the nintendo gameboy.
i friend of mine from italy got this interesting blog about synth and sequencers (above all synths indeed).
in this case there is this video to show how to midi control a game boy with a product from Firestarter
...this is the blog
http://synthvibrations.wordpress.com/
this blog is also a site: http://synthvibrations.com

...this is the label wich produce the midi thing http://www.firestarter-music.de/lsdj/...

Awesome idea!
I sample a lot of sounds from my gameboy color and my friends NES and other video games.

LSDJ!!! Don't forget Nanoloop too. I used LSDJ on a Game Boy emulator back when I had a PSP. Nice little piece of software considering the hardware it's designed for. The OG DMG grey brick has a great sound. My brother's girl has one I've been trying to talk her out of for years.

this is crazy. i always saw those (used) gameboys at ridiculous prices here...what kind of card you have to have in order to make sounds with gameboy? i don't know anything about the gameboy "toy"...
anyway something says to me that this midifier hardware costs more than the gameboy itself...

Here's some links to get you on the path. You can buy LSDJ cartridges, LSDJ MIDI interfaces, even LSDJ QWERTY keyboards for the Gameboy so it can used more like a traditional tracker.

but in practical thing, what do you have to see/ask when you buy a gameboy in order to make music? has it to have some cartridge something?

LSDJ and Nanoloop are the cartridges with music creation software. You'll want one or both of them.

when i went to europe long ago my band stayed with a whole bunch of dudes in france that played lsdj and circuit-bent toys. you gotta check out the artist PAZA. he is a wizard. haha my old band 8-bit did a split ep with him for beck in 2005 (gameboy variations). he did his tracks on lsdj and i faked it and did mine all in reason
