alright dudes. how do you guys sample basslines so they actually sound clean? i know that's what the isolator's for but it seems like i always can still hear the drums in my sample and that fucks with whatever other drum beat i'm trying to use. tips?

center canceler (while sampling to mono, otherwise you wont hear the full effect) helps a lot

otherwise you are best off sampling a sine wave from anywhere: synth, audacity, subsonic, vst, etc

it takes out everything panned left and right so only the middle remains and some other little touches that the sp's added, not sure what they added but just fiddle with that while sampling to mono and boosting the low knob, cutting the high and youll see what i mean

Yeah, I use the center canceler all the time for bass lines. I use it AFTER the sample has been recorded to mono..
Take a mono sample that has a nice bassline or bass notes in it that you want to extract, put on c canceler, leave the first control knob directly at 12o'clock, the second knob turned all the way up, or almost all the way up, and the last knob all the way down. I then either clean it up and boost the volume of the lows a bit with the isolator or EQ or I throw a little of the vinyl sim compressor on it, depending on what the sample sounds like...
