As i understand the workflow, i like it. I came from pocket operators workflow, so the realtime recording in comparison with the microscope adjustments is work well for me. I wish i would be resampling from the sequencer. But we can' t have it all.
To be honest i was thinking for the 404 mk2 but i read some good reviews for the sound of 505.. and i choose the 505 (ok, also it was 200€ more expensive).
Any feedback on how the mk2 sounds?

Yes the microediting is a big plus i wish roland had add it to the mk2...
Fot the mk2 sound, feel free to check the big post on the Freedom of Speech section, lots of video posted there;)

play the kick sequence while resampling then play the snare at the desired position

I have read this section of manual many times but i don' t understand this. If you want, to resample in the same pad more of one pads to make a whole beat, Is this possible? E.g in the pad 2 i want to resample/ create, the kick sequence from the pad 3, that includes kick sound. The snare sequence, from the pad 4 that includes snare sound, hi- hat from the pad 5 and a melody from the pad 9.
Thanks in advance.

you can resample a pad performance in one pad: choose pad 1 as the pad in wich the resamples pads will come to, play start, then play kick on pad 2 and snare on pad 3; the pad 2+ pad 3 performance will be recorded on pad 1.

maybe you want to try to resample entire sequences?
ok, you can resample (previous procedure) a kick sequence on pad 2 first; then choose pad 1 as the main resample pad, then hit play, then hit pad 2 to play the kick sequence and then play the snare sequence on pad 3 live (but you could have also recorded this snare sequence before, if you wanted)

I think i made it!! With your help of course!! I made a beat using the first method, i think.. And say i think, because i used the loop feature of the wave edit, to make some adjustments and then i proceeded to the next resample. When you say "play start" you mean to hit the sampling button? Also i don' t understand the method of resampling sequences, how e.g. the snares will be in the correct step if you don't listen the kick?
Thank you.

Cool, glad you made it.
You cannot resample sequences, you just can resample pads performance into one pad;) when i wrote about "sequences" i meant that you can resample entire pads performances resampled yet in one pad
Hit the play button: that is in order to make resampling process start

And now.. with my 505's memory full i tried to make some space in my sp's memory. I tried to save some of my samples and songs in a smartmedia card that cames with my sp. I made some back up load in the card but i saved wrong sample banks and patterns.
How can i delete them from my card?
Also when you save a song in the card, the system save the sequences + the sounds or only the sequences and then will have to upload the sounds separately?
Thanks in advance.

Hi guys!!
Merry Christmas!!
I' m confused with something!! I sequenced a number of patterns to create a song, on my 505. When i play the song and a pattern ends and the next starts, i think the sp make it jerkily. I mean the transition from one pattern to the other is not "smooth". Is possible to fix this and how?
Thanks in advance.

Make a fully quantised sequence of Kicks on every beat on 2 different sequences, go from one pad to the other, if they go from one sequence to the next smoothly then its not the 505 but maybe u need to practice more :)

Can you be more specific? You mean to do a fully quantised sequence via microscope in some new patterns? I want to correct what I have already done.

Basically, just keep practicing your timings when you make the sequence (without quantise or with quantise is up to you). Eventually, you’ll be playing the samples where the loop is “perfect” in the sequence so when it goes from one pad to another then it will be seamless :) what I said about making a sequence with fully quantised kicks was just an example you could try so you can hear what a perfect loop going from one sequence to another sounds like :)

Ok, i understand now. I try to keep quantize off, when i make a beat, for a more natural sound.
Thank you!
