How many people on here sometimes make their own loops for use on the SP...or at least use a DAW to edit loops or samples they have found before putting them on the SP. I'm new to these forums and to the SP so I'm not sure how common this is.

I used to chop samples in audacity all day while I was at work. I'd save em to a USB drive and when I got home I'd load em up on the hardware samplers. It made the day go by pretty quick!

i personally never do except at first when i was getting to know my way round the 404 id make up drum loops and just put them on a pad. now i resample myself playing to get a loop... its the same thing really

ive never taken my memory card out once though. i like to just record stuff in and then record back out again... it would ruin it a bit for me if i was transfering files all the time... i dunno why lol

^Yeah it did kinda seem to me to defeat the point of the sampler, thats why I was asking if anyone did this. But I guess it might depend on the situation, too.^

Ain't nothing wrong with making stuff on compy to send to 404. Just depends on your workflow.

Just do whatever is most comfortable with you and don't be afraid to experiment.

You can record yourself playing a melody into the SP and then chop it up. That's pretty common.

Or chop long ass samples in a DAW and sample it into the SP. Or you could chop samples up on the SP and record it into your DAW.

There's so many ways to slice it

2nding Formal, Hseiken & Andyo. The more techniques you know the better & more confident you'll get with all your gear. I've always enjoyed sampling other sequencers in my SP, regardless of it being hardware or software.
