Since I got my 404sx I've watched a lot of videos on youtube and there seems to be a lot of people doing tutorials of how to track a beat into your daw. They all show people using audio cables and the mic jack of a computer, do people know you can just dump your wav files from the 404sx into a folder and load them directly into whatever daw you like. Now I only use those horrible rca jacks when I have to

The RCA outputs themselves aren't terrible, in fact I really like the sound of the SP when tracked out... but then again I have an audio interface. Would not recommend tracking out into the computer's 1/8" jack. Tracking into something like a mixer, too, can give you the added benefits of passing your sound through analog circuitry, which can often be a lot better than just exporting.

You have to track out your beats only if you use the pattern sequencer but if you make your beats using resampling then all you have to do is remove the sd card and put it in a sd card reader if you have a Mac and most pc laptops have an sd card slot and this is what I do or I'll sample my beat(I use both resampling and pattern sequencer methods) into my triple 5 then remove the card and save the wav files to my laptop.
Hope it helps....

Yeah, if you use the internal sequencer than you would need to track it using an 3.5mm jack or interface. If you like to sequence, a daw is superior in it's options for arrangement than an SP. I also tend to record my sp sequencer stuff to regular old tape 2-track and put it into the computer if someone needs it. I always like to hear folks ideas and approach to creating sounds and beats etc. Thanks

You are absolutely right and I thought about purchasing a 4 track but since I have a 555,I simply sample in it then remove the cf card and dump the beat in my laptop 2 track stylee.
I don't like to track out in a DAW,I'd rather start my beat in it,less hassle for me:)

I find that the audio is better quality when I track it out compared to transferring via sd card.

Maybe my levels are fucked up while I resample to pads and stuff, but I just track my shit out.
