Hey guys, just want to know your opinion about the Yamaha SU 700. Heard about warm and crunchy Sound and good FX. But The sequencer would not be that easy to program like on a sp. Could you tell me a bit of this machine? advantages? disadvantages?
I got the chance to get one... :D

hi
maybe there is some thread on the "other machines" section, but i don't remember...
this sampler as always intrugued me.
it has 3 fx simultaneously, roll, a ribbon controller (like on the su10 or su200).
what is someway "hostile" to me is the comprhesion of its own internal workflow. until now i still don't understand if the sequencer is similar to the 404's or not for example...(this is the impression i got anyway)
the fact pads are "divided" let me perplexed too (maybe this is the same of what is on the es1/esx by korg?)...

if you pick one post some sounds please!! :)

Hey Ho,
i did not bought it. I think i wait for the new roland sp 707 :)
the 404 does great work and it is not that necessary for me to get another sampler. maybe sometimes for pattern sampling... ;)

i've used one, it's in fact my first sampler ever.

I can't really talk about it objectivly since I was the most noooob at the time.

3 effect were dope when I jammed with guitar player and shit. all the effect are DEEEEEEEEEPLY customisable but not live, it's all buried in menus. Never used the sequencer, can't even remember is there was a resample fonction, I just always jammed my shit out on it.

i would not buy one today. not as a second sampler (using 404sx atm).
