Hey there,

I've read in the Sp-404 manual that all the samples you want to load have to be in the top directory of the Compact Flash card. Is there a better way of loading samples? Or do you just have to put them all on randomly and then rearrange them all how you want?

You can't use a folder system? Like folder A loads all samples into Bank A on the 404?

Thanks again!

Kyle

You name them C_01 and it loads to the corresponding pad (1) and bank (C) and so on. But you can only load samples into one bank at a time. Hope that solves your problem.

Sorry Dr. but that is not the way the 404 does the import of samples:
The name of the samples does NOT indicate the bank where it will be loaded; you decide at import time in which bank and position the sp should start importing the samples. You can also import samples in more than one bank at a time.

sorry pet3r you're wrong! i do that all the time. it's even in the manual, just it says how they are exported, not imported(p.39). so just reverse that.

i have named up to 7 banks from C to I, 1 to 12. at one time. they come out the way you want them. this MIGHT be due to the fact that it loads all sample alphabetically(priority) and then numerically(secondary).

i don't do this often cuz it's a bitch to name 'em all.
