Same break beat was being chopped up and sequenced on both machines. no effects was being added. first one's SP second's MP.

nice one, thanks for doing this


to my ear, the mpc sounds punchier than the 404, but the parts seem more disparate and unconnected. the 404, while being a bit more muted on the attacks, has a more unified and cohesive feel.

Imo the MPC sounds crispier and phatt. But you used mono chops on the 404 and probably lower sampling frequency because I know that the 404 can sound a bit crispier too. But anyways thanks for the comparison. I will be soon getting an MPC2kXL btw.

thanks man.

the mpc def sounds more bright and clear. The 404 sounded lofi and a little better imo. And they sound like they were sequenced different and I assume they were chopped a little different. But still its hard to believe there is this much difference.

yeah i guess the 404 sounds flatter and less compressed than mp.. plus i love the ruggedness of the 404 sound.. mp's way more bright cuz its boosting the mid-highs and highs alot.
