I'm not sure how to describe this but how with the sx do I make that machine gun repeat snare or kick hit usually in hip hop and rap my problem is placing it in side of a quantized measure under pattern select recording.

What I have been doing is placing my hits under 16 beat and then skip a beat untill I'm ready to hit the machine gun so it would be like I place the snare hit two hits per number and then double that to fit the 16 beat quantize on the last digit .4 the results are some thing to be disired is this the right method I just need to practice or is there a better way.

i would probably resample the sound onto another pad and change your start/end points until it loops at the rate you want while gate and loop are both lit, and you'll only have to press it once and release when your done. then you don't get the 'lag' from the SP with too many pads going at once.

^ yes but then of course the hits that come after aren't quantized, they're just following in the train of the first hit.
if you want them quantized, your best bet is probably to put the single hits in by hand.
don't know if that's doable - how fast a repetition is it/how many single hits?

One thing you can do is resample while using the bpm looper. Make sure the pattern bpm is set at the bpm of the song you want to incorporate the roll in. Have Ctrl 2 set fully to the left and adjust ctrl 1 right to the tempo you want. Just tap the sample and turn ctrl 3 "on" at the right moment and you will have a stutter snare right in tempo in sync with the pattern. Then, resample your performance and voila. THe bpm looper works off of the pattern bpm.

I agree with admbmb, but my preference would be using the DJ Looper rather than the BPM looper, although he is probabaly right about the BPM looper being a more syncronized technique.
