hey there.

i've been looking around ebay and google for the last couple days looking for CF cards that will work properly with my 404.

I've figured out that only Type I works, and i've been looking specifically for Sandisk and Kingston cards, but it's very hard to find them or get them shipped over here to Australia. Amazon has a few, but they're US shippable only.

Does anybody have any ideas, or any they'd like to sell?
which other brands besides sandisk and kingston are good to get?

maybe there should be a definitive stickied post about what CF cards are compatible with the original 404, and where we can get them!

Cheers!

hey, im in australia too man and i had no trouble getting SD cards from places like JB HiFi and dicksmith etc. I'm currently using a couple of 2gig SanDisk SD cards and have had no troubles so far.

I've got:
1. greenhouse
2. hagiwara (toshiba)
3. sandisk

they all work.
i also have a type 2 that i haven't tried yet. sounds like it won't work, oh well.

edit; i'm always on the lookout for 'em. they are getting harder to find but if you got none, i could probably sell you one. if you want one new, well no guarantees there, though.
pm me if you have no luck and we7ll work something out. i like to barter instead of get money. you don't have a power cord for a casio keyboard, do you! :D

i got like 7 toshiba 1gb and they all work great, never had a problem with them. i've gotten 3 for a homie too and he has never had a problem either, i found them at a Sam's Club, which is a massive walmart like store that sells everything in bulk and requires membership, my mom went with my aunt back when i first got my 404 and saw them and we've continued to go back since and seem to be the only ones buyin em, its been months now though, they might be all out

you mean the Transcend 1GB Compact Flash (CF) Flash Card Model TS1GCF80?

are you sure?
i've seen posts around here that say the Transcend cards don't work. I thought i even saw a post which read that Roland themselves said they don't.
