Hola sp heads!.. Anybody know how to extend or shorten pattens that you've created? say make a one bar loop extend to two, or shorten a two bar loop to one.. Doesn't seem to be anything in the manual about this. Every time I copy a pattern it always is the same in length even when you try to change the patten length it won't let me.. Very frustrating indeed!!
Many thanks, Slushy

yeah that's one of the weak points of the 404....

you can extend a pattern:
- go into pattern rec mode and before you start the recording press the length button and use ctrl 3 to add some bars BUT these will be blank...
no chance to shorten a pattern though!

But hey there are some ingenious folks (yeah we have our own jj's)
trying to hack the 404 which might allow us to edit our patterns with the computer. Either as a midi file (!) (pattern export) or by changing some hex-parameters with a certain program. I'd love to see a program like the MPC SEQ EDIT-menu! Copy certain bars from here to there, extend a loop. . . This would be sooo awesome... ModuLR ya heard me...?

I SAID SOOOOOOO AWESOME!!!
I even would pay for shit like this!!!

press rec once and select the pad for the sequence you wanna make longer, then before you press record again press length and try and add bars, this is how it works on the 404, gotta do it on the inbetween before you press rec and it counts you in, the bars will be blank but you can add in whatever you want just like you started a new pattern.... you can't shorten though unfortunately, although by using the sub pad you can automatically switch a pattern to another one without waiting for it to end, that could help
