I have a 404sx. I think I corrupted the new sdhc card i have. Now the 404sx keeps giving me the Ejc prompt, even when I try to reformat the card, and ontop of that, now my computer won't read the sdhc card anymore! My Mistake -? I copied ALL the data from the original card, then put it onto the new formatted card. That seems to have fried the card so the 404sx wants to eject it and the computer won't read it. Plus now I can't access the backup banks on the original 1gb card -the card says empty, but the recorded data is still on it. Any tips on how to get the 404 to read it?? Any secret reformatting tips?? Help please. Thanks

try a factory reset with the card in that has the old data on it... the steps to do the reset are in the manual towards the back..

Hi
Have you been hot-swapping the cards in the SX? I don't know if that's advisable - I'd always change cards switched off and also wait at least ten seconds after doing anything that writes to the card before switching off, because there's no telling how long the card takes to finish writing the data into its flash memory.

There is data recovery software that can fix corrupt cards (so long as it's not impossibly bad) - I got it free on a Kingston CF card, which is just as well as this program cost a lot to buy separately. I think It's from Ontrack and may well be Windows PC only.
