Hey guys

It would be really great if you could help me out. I followed the manual to the letter/read the forum, but still ran into serious problems...

All i wanted to do was import a couple of samples - on pads B_05, and B_10. I selected these two. After importing these samples though, it carried on, importing to the rest of the B bank and all my other banks. I only wanted these two samples imported - what did i do wrong? There were other files on the memory card, should i have deleted them so there was only B_05 and B_10? Or should B_06, B_07 B_08 and B_09 been imported as well, which would have made sure that B_10 went to the right pad? Argh!

Another thing - i found that the imported samples didn't have the marks (start and end points) as i'd set them - they'd gone back to how i'd very first sampled them. Now i have to re-do em all over again..Should i have saved them in a backup folder?

Any advice would be great cos i had to cancel a show because of this.

Thanks
Julie

To make that clearer - i exported the samples (with the right markings) onto a computer, imported them, and they were back to how i'd originally recorded them...

man, ive experienced this like a day ago, its just overwrites your samples to load em all up, im guessing you'd have to get rid of the samples you dont want to load which would be really gay. but i load samples up and it loads like all of them and overwrites the ones i got on my sampler. your not alone sister!

You have to truncate the files if you want to export - if you're still going to need the original sample then make a backup/export it/resample/make a copy to another pad before truncating.

If you're using the regular SP-404, you'll need to import one file at a time. Put the file on the card, import to the SP-404, back to the card reader/computer, erase that file (or hide it in a folder), put the other file on the card... With the SP-404SX there's the software so you can throw whatever sample on whatever pad you want.

All i do after I import the samples on my 404..I put the flashcard back into the reader and delete the files out of the main folder but they will be in the back up folder......and when you want to import new samples just paste in the main folder and import to the next available pad.
