hey, i just picked up my first sampler about a month ago. i had some problems with it, it wouldn't play back any samples, even the factory ones, and i basically could not do anything at all with it.

i replaced it for a brand new one at the store, and there are still some problems, such as, it will freeze after i finished recording a sample and press Record to stop it, or if im deleting something, it could just automatically shut off. i've lost some good samples and i even had to miss a little show because my samples were gone from bank c. i'd even be afraid to do a live show in fear that my samples just won't play

i know i should've had backed them up to my computer. i think its my memory card, a 1gb compact flash from lifetime memory products. any help at all is greatly appreciated.

(sorry if this issue was addressed earlier)

sounds like they went to the back room and brought out the same sampler .

well, it shouldnt do things like that so it might be broken, you should bring it back for one that works.

If that doesn't work, try using a different CF card. Remember to format first!

next time you return your 404 take note of the serial number to make sure they don't pull that 'swap' stunt on you.

I had the same problem.
My Sp-404 shut down automaticaly.
But it was only the "low cost" CF-Card.
Now i take an other one and everything works fine!!

Throw your card away or use it in your camera.
