I've noticed that every time I turn my 404 back on, the BPM for my patterns always gos back to exactly 102. Is there a way to make a fixed BPM for a pattern?

Yeah man, it always throws me off too.
Somebody here came up with the idea using their on board mic to record themselves saying the patterns bpm in the pattern. Fucking brilliant! :D

also you could record a metrenome (from another machine, of course); as like the first pad, loop it, tap tempo and viola. it's a little more involved but it would go over better in a live situation where "112 bpm" over the loud speaker would be wierd. imagine boom, boom, boom, bap... boom, boom, boom, bap, pattern starts.
