hi
do the metronome works when we resampling with sp-404?

i ask you this because i'm planning to buy one. my dear sp-303 can't do that and sp-404 got also battery system, compact flash, can export .wav files and can put one pattern after onother in the right way...so i have to decide hardly if selling or not the sp-303 (they have both only a midi-in so they can't communicate each other via midi, s**t!!)...

thanx

I only have a 303, but I almost positive the 404 can't.

thanx euclid
love your soundz
i got an sp-303 too.
me too i think the sp-404 don't have this, anyway no mention in the manual...like for the sp-303 manual...
but i read in the forum that someone talked about a "blue light-metronome" feature in the sp-404...maybe this could be useful.

You can't hear the clicking metronome on the 404 when you resample. You have but the flashing blue light of the display. It pulses in time with the current bpm. It can be helpful but I think it's hard to coordinate your timing exactly to it, even more cause it fades in and out so you can't exactly tell the peak (=hit) of the light in slow bpms.

You can see the light in Drewzles video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BYWZVCAoITA

whoa i didnt know it blinked at resample.
better turn my blinker back on .
i been making mad resample beats with no sequencer beep.

a cool way to get super fast dope kicks is to loop short kicks .

That's still really useful to have the light flashing in time while you resample, unless you have absolutely no rhythm or you're trying to make tightly timed dance tracks. I love how someone always knows a trick around here.

very hard for me but maybe i have to sell my sp-303: i find the sp-404 more useful for me and with some features very nice....but s**t, i like the look of the sp-303 broken/old/nasty machine old-recorder-like...
...do you know if there is a method/strategy to connect the 2 beasts together via midi? i've heard someone talked about some midi box connector that could do this, but i really know nothing at all about this thing...

Since they both only have midi in they can't talk to each other. You would have to get a audio/midi interface that could receive midi cc notes from a computer, a midi keyboard, or a pad controller and have that running into the 303 and 404 via the interfaces midi outs.

you could also totally just use them at the same time, drums on one, samples on the other, or use the 303 as an effects box into the 404, just run one into the other and have it on external source, then you can mute tracks from one easily by just hitting the ext source button on and off, i am itchin for the 303 to go with my 404

yeah, this is another way to use them at the same time, but what i want is to use them working midi together....maybe there is somewhere some midi connector-like...
