OOh man, I was souped when I found out I can use I-Pod via RockBox on the SP-404. I have been messing with it. (how do you record patterns) Anyway I am even more hyped that I can run it through my computer, and record wav. files that way and mess with it on the patterns. I get music from online convert it to wav. files via Switch and let the music play with Songbird waiting to hear that sound and have a quick hands on approach to sampling.

I was hesistant at first being a PC producer (although now I have a mac) if the sp will feel right but i was searching for something more hands on and quick this is it.

No more opening slicing than opening a program.....Now I can just work on the SP (I feel it fine tuning my skills) Although I am waiting for a new 1 gig kingston flash and usb flash converter to put in the computer and edit it further when I am done.

When money is right I will invest in a Rain StormStorage Raid to store massiv music, a small portable Asus Computer fit wih media monkey, and an IPhone with Winamp Remote or if any of these storage webistes let you run wav.

Anyway,
I been spending most of my time trying to figure out how to play music through the SP.

What else would I need in order to transport music out of the SP. PLEASE be as simple or redundant as you can be, I know your experts at this. I basically want to know what are the essentials other than the flash drive.
I am thinking
1. a flashdrive. 2. Batteries. 3. A MIDI cord, which one? I found one online that had a connector to midi in/out and USB
called E-MU Xmidi 1X1 USB MIDI interface, can you use this as a straight up USB cord to, IF so what program.

Other than the flashdrive, batteries, midi cord, flashdrive USB reader or is there another way for computers to read a flash drive, RCA cords in/outs, a jack for headphones, microphone,

computer or other wav format player I read in the manual it only supports wav and aiff, but i just recorded off of youtube Les McCann Benjamin. This can go long way in freeing storage space on my I-Pod with Music to sample. Cause I can always edit it on the comp later.

However would this work when it comes down to importing patterns recorded to a computer for further editing will it read a different format recorded to patterns other than wav or aiffs used?

In other words if I make a pattern from MP3 samples will it read when I have to put it into my computer. Is there a differnt topic forum in this site that dwells more into this subject I saw .spd I have no idea what that means or how it reads. Even if there is a post lemme get a jist of it, I will still read the post hopefully I will have my shit together for the arena.
