I have 3 CF cards... and they're getting full. I don't record in my computer at all... but is it easy enough to just dump my sounds in there, and then retrieve them later?

it's real easy. just use a cf card reader and make a file on your desktop(as to name what ya got) then put/copy the whole file (from cf card) into that named file. and finally when you want to retrieve that file use the file inside of the named file and you'll be golden.

i would try it on just one card so if something goes wrong you won't lose all your samples (just one cards worth). but you really should be all right as long as you copy file to comp.
