So when I hook up my sp to my rokit 5s using the rca outputs I get a light hum sound. And when I hit the rec button without any music playing it makes a buzz/beep sound that coincides w/ the lights blinking...doesnt do this on my headphones. What could be going on,or is this normal as the music plays back fine its just those instances I mentioned that confuse me.thanks for the help y'all:)

Is it a ground-loop?

Check to see if all your plugs are on the same fuse block.

I've had problems getting nasty ground-loop noise if my devices are plugged into several different electrical outlets. One thing that's worked for me in that scenario is to put all the devices on one power strip. Or bring an extension chord from a different room and plug into that. That's eliminated ground loop hum for me in the past.

Im not sure what it was but it seemed to go away when I switched to an rca to 1/4 adapter cable and hooked into my speakers that way....not totally gone but good enough I guess haha.

The quality of cables and length of cables can lead to unwanted noise. Basically, go for low resistance metals on the connector and inner wiring and short distance. If your two units are apart and you're using 5 meter cables, that's silly, just us a 1 meter. The further the path the audio must travel, the more noise its likely to pick up before reaching your ears on the other side.

the beeping from the lights is some kind of radio interference generated by the 404. i found out when you put a am/fmradio by the 404

also might be ground to. there is a ground screw on the back of the 404 OG, when you ground it to the speakers , it wont buzz, and maybe the beeping will go away too.

be carefull to ALWAYS keep that screw tight. it is linked right to the power supply and if it wiggles loose then you will break your 404.
