I've got 2 404s, and one has very easy-to -turn knobs and other does not. I'd like to make them very easy to spin around? Has anybody had experience with using some kind of lubricant to do this? I opened the 404 and aprayed it with computer duster, but it was not the gunk that was slowing them down apparently...

I've used knob lube (lulz) on my ESX. Stuff works almost TOO good!

It's got a WD40 type extension to the sprayer. Pull the knob cap off and squirt a little onto the base and then turn the knob fully a couple of times and in about 1 minute, you'll feel it loosen up so much you'd think it was floating on the pot.

Caig sells the stuff I used.

I can't believe its not Butter!

Another option is to get some new knobs from Radio Shack or if your into something more flashy...

Either way, an inexpensive upgrade.
