so i just upgraded from my sp303 to an sp404 (not sx). so the main way i like to make my beats is through intense amounts of resample and i notice that on the 404 if i make a drum loop and try to resample a melody over it the drum loop will stop looping after 2 bars in. i was wondering if this is a frequent problem with the 404 or if i have a defective one. recently ive had to make beats in the pattern sequencer -.- i muthaphukkin hate that shit. holla back (please reply :))

is the drum loop in loop mode?
if it is, its a polyphony problem. You are probably trying to hit too many pads at once.
if you dont think you are you are probably are....lol
sloppy playing.

If you dont let your finger off before you hit another it obviously counts as pressing both down. itll cancel the first pad hit...which in your case is the loop.

Try making some of your samples mono.

Does the 404 have lower polyphony than the 303? Cause I never had this problem before. I'm hitting maximum 3 pads at once including the drum loop

It has higher polyphony, but not in resampling mode. In this mode you have only 4 voices (2 stereo).

Fuck that's such a kick in the nuts. Why would they downgrade like that. Is the sx any different?

So how do I change my samples to mono? How much polyphony will I get then?

Hit the stereo button when you resample or sample new samples so it's off.

You'll get 4 pads you can resample at once this way.

4 mono, 2 mono 1 stereo, 2 stereo. Those are your resample options. Nothing more.
