 Post subject: Tip- check your output gain for more headroom w effects

I discovered lowering the output gain gives you more headroom when applying effects (like EQ to make a sample louder) and prevents distortion from occuring as soon- very nice.

Mine was set to +12dB and I ended up setting it to 0dB. The cool thing is you can adjust it while you have an effect applied to a looping sample and hear the result as you flip through the settings (-3dB, 0dB, +3dB, +6dB, +9dB, and +12dB)

It actually sounds great flipping through them rhythmically you get nice overdrive on the higher settings. I wish you could resample it but you can't. I might record it w external recorder and sample it back in. Sadly the different dive/distortion fx on the 404SX suck IMO.
