Ok so ive had the SP hooked up for a couple days now and searched the boards for tips, now ive got a specific question hoping you guys can help. I've arranged a couple patterns for a beat and set that pattern at 83 bpm, then moved to a different bank of pads to start working on the next beat. Ive made a little pattern with all new samples and that pattern is set at 92 bpm. Now when i go back and listen to the old beat its all set to 92 and out of sync...what would be the best way to lock these bpms in so i could flip through 5 or 6 different patterns without having to adjust the bpms beforehand?

once your sample is looped and truncated just set the tempo using the time/bpm button on your sp.. It's pretty simple, just press the button and then turn the knobs to match the tempo..

Sometimes I will do this with the beat instead of the sample:

say you have a break at 90 bpm and two samples you you want to apply the break to. One sample is already 90 bpm but the second sample is at 83 bpm. I will adjust the drum pattern to 83 and resample it. Now I have to versions of the break, one to match each loop... sometimes it just sounds better to me that way

the BPM setting for patterns are universal, it always starts at 102 or whatever when you turn it on, then stays at what you last set it at, so to change between patterns that you want to play at different BPMs you gotta change it live, cue up the next pattern, hit the BPM button and hopefully your knob turnin skills are up to par
