I have the 404 og (still). I just got an op-1 and moved to Mac last year.

The problem: all my files are wav and since I was a pc user for so long I never thought twice about it. But now I want to move to aif, as this is more convenient (and the only acceptable file on the op-1).

The converter software is online but it says only compatible with the sx (shame on you roland).
So what I would love to do is convert all my files on cf card to aif that my Mac can read.
1. Can I transfer old wav files (roland proprietary og style) to new aif files?
2. If not can transfer to new wav files? (at which point, I could batch convert to aif, no problem)
3. Will these files be readable by my Mac? Or will they be only readable by the sx (and if so what's the point? How would this help even with the sx?)

Any ideas? I really don't want to export file by file, life is too short for that shit.

And I don't really want to buy a new sx or put ALL the files back on the card right now. I know when I do it will be og style (again, no problem). I would love an sx but don't have $$$ for that ATM.
I just want my old files on my new Mac as aif.

I have a feeling that the 404 OG uses an exclusive file compression format that can't be used outside of the 404. Only the SX can import wav files.

I think you may be stuck with sampling everything out in realtime!

hit cancel + resample {file manager} , then hit resample again {export}, then choose -> light up the samples you want to dump then hit record. works the same for import but hit record instead of resample at step 2. it isnt file by file, more like bank by bank, so 12 times might take to long.

i re read your post sorry for assuming you dont know how to export.

No problem.
Just bite the bullet, I guess. I wanted to be lazy. Oh well.

But I swear I remember reading somewhere that there was a way to transfer og files to the sx as a one time deal when you upgraded.

forgot to say that the samples need to be on gate and you need enough room on the card.

you can export samples as aif also...
just check the manual how to change the setting from wav to aif.
