Hey 404sx heads:
Is there a way or trick to change the delay/slicer effects tempo in real time? I realize that the delays etc are synced to the tempo of the sample. I'd really love to have the tempo synced by tap tempo.
Any ideas?
That's dudes.
Todd

i think it should sync to pattern BPM like other effects do, so a workaround could be to make a pattern with a dummy sample (blank air or a resample of something turned all the way down) and change the BPM of the pattern to suit your needs, try it out

Thanks doc
Great idea. See, freakin sp forums and it's sp-masters are the bomb!
Still, I wish ya could trigger a sample than tap tempo the delay for wild sweeping delay sweep effects. Maybe in an OS update? Yeah riiiight.
Thanks.

yeah that would be nice, another option i remembered after posting the other day is using a dummy pad.......when the pattern sequencer isn't in use, the effects syncs to the tempo of whatever pad is selected, and if multiple pads are selected it goes with the highest BPM i believe (it's either the highest or the lowest, pretty sure it is the highest though)

so you choose a pad that isn't part of what you are about to play, time stretch it so that the BPM is where you want it (easy enough to change back to normal when you are done), then go to the pads you are playing and cut all the BPMs in half so that the one dummy pad has the highest number display out of all the pads with the effect on, then the slicer (or whatever) should work the same way without having to have a pattern running

the only issue i've had here is sometimes if I don't do things in this order I'm about to explain then the sync can act funny.......so have the effect off, choose just the dummy pad with the changed BPM and turn it on for JUST that pad, then select the others using remain

sometimes if I don't do it in this order, my effect BPM sync gets all silly and isn't linked to the BPM I want, but if I turn the machine off and back on and do things in the order i explained then things usually work out

still doesn't let you do what you're looking to do, but this does give you the option to resample what you're playing which is nice, and let's you not have to be running a pattern to sync your effects to a specific BPM

Damn Dr.! You're the man!
Sweet solution.
These workarounds are what give the SP's character!
