i sort of asked a question like that, but i think my question at that time was not really clearly worded...

i try again: suppose i program a sequence: kick, snare, h.hat, and another sample. it is recorded and i play it.

supppose now as i listen to my sequence, i think that the snare would sound better with a delay or reverb , or what not FX. and suppose i find that for example the h hat is too loud.

is there a way to assign an FX to individual voices and also to modify the sound level of individual voices in an existing sequence (ie WITHOUT having to resample the voices, reset the voice volumes, and after that reprogram all over my sequence) ???
in other words can i put in FX and change individual voices volume in my sequence without having to start my sequence again from scratch ?????

thanx !!!

I think I get you... The sequencer records only note on/off and velocity (if u have an external controller) It doesnt record level changes or FX tweaks. So yes, it should be possible to do that....provided I understand what your asking correctly :)

Yes you can adjust the sound levels after it's recorded in the pattern sequencer and you can use one effect at a time live.

You need some resampling but you don't need to start to program your sequence from scratch. Let's say u need an FX applied to your kickdrum, which is used in your sequence. Just resample the kickdrum to another pad and delete the original. Now resample the kickdrum back to it's original place with the FX on. Of course you can have the FX on while resampling the first time too.. This was discussed in another topic a while ago but the pattern data stays in the memory even if some of the pads have no samples so this is possible.. hope you understood my point :)

ok, but then as i understand it there are 2 ways to add fx to a voice part of an already programmed sequence: one is to get back to sample banks, select that voice, and then tack an fx on it. then get back to sequence mode and that voice will play in the sequence, with the fx. however only one voice at the time can be fx'ed.

the other way (described by one of the posters in this thread, who i thank !!) from what i understand is more complicated but allows several voices to be fx'ed: if the sequence has voices a b c, then get back to sample mode, and for each of a b c, resample them with an fx to another pad/bank. THEN put back those fx'ed voices back to their original pads/banks location (with like a 2nd resampling but this time without using any additional fx). the sequence will use those fx'ed voices thinking they are the original samples. BUT one needs to save the original voices (non fx'ed) somewhere to not lose them since you'll be using the pads/banks of the non fx'ed samples to put in the fx'ed samples.... and if one wants to change the fx, then the whole process needs to be repeated all over...so the whole thing is pretty involved. maybe i am missing something...

i suppose this method could be used to adjust voice levels, but still, is there a more DIRECT or simpler method to modify voice levels ( or for that matter add fx to voices ) during sequence playing ???? anybody ???

if you have a sequence playing and you want to lower the highhit volume you can press the button and start/end/level at the same time, then turn the 3rd knob to control the volume. the machine remembers those volume changes.
