I'm strugglin with the max 12 polyphony... need more voices. Anyway I tried to free space in pattern mode by turning my drum pattern into just one sample instead of the 3-4 individual hits. But now when I use it in pattern mode, its the first voice to get muted out at 12 polyphony. How can i change which sample gets muted when it maxes out. I think it mutes the longest sample, can that be changed? thanks

peace

I wonder how you work, I rarely ever need more than 12 if I know what to keep in mono/stereo!

No way to change how it cut the first sample tho.

For this particular track, I'm using pattern mode. I have a drum beat that uses 3-4 samples (drum hits), a bass line with up to 3-4 samples at once (each sample an individual bass note), and a synth track with up to 4 samples (chords). So this maxes out if I want to add anything else. So I put my drum patter through my multi-track and sent it back to the 404 as just 1 sample instead of 4. But now since its so long, its the first sample cut.

What I really need is another unit to work with my 404.

yah , keep track of what you got in stero cause alot of the time it is pointless to use stereo, keeping true mono will sound cleaner too. when you m ush two stereo tracks together i call garbage mono, but still is ok. a good trick is to record a sequence of a certian track, ie - your drums, and then record them back in , this will save a few voices, it is a little time consuming. but can help save voices, if you have a problem with a sound cutting out, just delete it from the sequencer and slap it back on. it will over ride the priority but something else might mute out. anyone ever get a crazy random .hiccup glitch out of nowwhere ?>
