Okay so, I recorded a sample from my synth directly in and it works just fine. However, when I go to record it on top of a pattern that I make, it plays it all the way through, but when I go to listen to it, only a milisecond of the actual sample plays (if that--sometimes, it doesn't record at all). Can anyone help me out?

you might have "gate" triggered on your sample. press the sample thats not playing all the way and make sure the gate button is not lit.

ah, yeah I do. Sorry, I'm kinda new to this whole drum machine/sampler world. Can you explain to me what gate does/is?

gate means you gotta hold down the sample for as long as you want it to play, where as taking it off lets the sample play out from just tapping the pad once and letting right off, check out that manual
