so when i first got my 404sx i put in brand new batteries. Ive probably spent maybe at the most 2 hours of time playing with it running on battery power(i.e its always plugged in).

Recently it just started saying low battery and im like wtf? i thought this thing was supposed to last for 6 hours on battery life.

Anyway way just wanted to know if anyone experienced similar with their 404sx?

yeah, they do... it is generally a good idea to remove batteries from a device, whether its plugged into a wall or just sitting turned off on your shelf.. remove the batteries

when i owned one i carried my 404 in a bag when i would travel with it. i had a cd the power supply, rca cords, a mini jack to rca cord, and other random stuff in there. i just kept a set of double A's in there permanently because i knew they would be fresh and didn't have to worry about scrounging for batteries at the last minute running out the door. some people have a problem with noise from the power supply and use batteries, i never had that problem.
