Does anyone know if the djfx Looper effect works the same on the live external input as it does on samples? I can understand what it does to recorded samples but am not clear as to if it can effect realtime audio. I basically want to do the machine gun stuttering effects on full mixes coming from my multitrack. If it does then I'd definitely be interested in getting one. Thanks!

The only thing that is diferent with djfx on external source is ctrl knob 2 wich can slow the sample down and reverse it.
On external source it just takes little pieces of the sound and wil slow that down and then go to where you are then and slow that down.

Thanks bloc that's exactly what I needed to know! I figured there had to be some difference but it seems like the basic stutter looping functionality is still there.

yeah blocs right, cause the first knob controls the amount of time that it works in, if you turn it all the way down and then put it in reverse with knob 2, it plays a certain amount and then catches up and does it again, if you turn knob 1 all the way up, the spaces are so short that it doesn't seem slower speed wise, just sound wise, its pretty much exactly like how it works on a sample already recorded in, the only thing that is different is that it lags with the audio, especially if you get to freakin shit, and so if you go crazy, and then turn off the effect, it will jump ahead like 2 second, and if you were say scratching a record or somethin, it would be super hard to do because your lookin at the record and you know when the vocal cut or whatever starts and its not there yet with the audio, and your spin back comes a second later, shit would be rough...........so be aware of that if your tryin to use any sort of indicator of things in your mix other than your ears

Hey Doc - I don't really understand what you mean by lag. My understanding was that even with a sample that when you turn on the effect with the knob, that the sample will continue even while yer freakin shit. So say you have a 1 bar drum loop and turn on the effect on the third beat and turn it off after two beats, that it would be at the beginning of the loop again. This is what I want. Or are you talking of a different type of lag or jump entirely?

what i mean is that, if your running the effect on the ext source, and you start tweakin the knobs like crazy, and then put the knobs back to normal play with the effect still on, it will play normal, but if you turn off the effect, the actual audio is most likely a second or two ahead of what your hearing, if you only do minimal tweaking real quick (couple seconds) and turn it off it will most likely be where it was, but most of the time, to process the audio coming in with all the stuttering and 'reversing', the incoming audio lags a second or two behind, the key is to just keep the effect running and if you want it to play normally, turn all the effect parameters off (knob 1 is kind of irrelevant so keep it where you would want it when you turn things back on, knob 2 all the way up for full speed forward play, and knob 3 below half way to turn off the stutter) but keep the actual effect on, cause as soon as you turn it off, it jumps ahead a second or two to where the audio actually is

if your doing this on something that is already recorded in to a pad the lag is not nearly as bad
