Does the SP404 have any features that will allow me to mute samples by triggering other samples? For example, if I play a sample on pad A01, if i trigger A02 a couple seconds later is there any way I can mute A01, or will they just overlap:?:

THE 404 HAS NO MUTE GROUPS, play your samples in gate mode.
But, you can however use mfx22 (subsonic) as a mute switch, turn the right knob (bal) and middle knob (threshold) all the way to the right. sure that's right. yo

well the 404 has no option for pads to cut each other out unless your maxing out the poly. why don't you record a load of drum loops, resample and chop your own break then play it out from there???

I want to use mfx22 to mute everything but like my snare by holding remain and pushing down all other pads. This undoes itself every time I play another sample, the fx will mute that instead. Is there a way to avoid this so I can have the fx to drop everything but the snare all the time even when I play other samples afterwords?

another mute group workaround... set all pads( the ones you want to mute each other) to loop but not gate. then have one or the other lit. then hit both pads simultaneously and they will 'mute' each other, switching their settings.
