Hey, I'm new to this forum and am very inexperienced, I hope someone can help me I would greatly appreciate it.

I have a question regarding making drum loops. I want to create a drum loop on the Sp404, however I don't want to make it as a pattern, but as a sample. I want to do this because I want to mess with layers of sequenced samples while playing the Sp live, however, the SP only lets you play one pattern at a time.

I have tried making a pattern, then resampling that pattern onto a pad as a sample, however, I discovered on this forum that you are unable to do it on the SP404

Is there a way I can create a drum loop out from my drum samples by using the resample function instead of creating a pattern?

Thank you

yep, you're gonna have to perform it and probably bounce it a couple of times.

start the resamlping process then bang out your beat instead of just resampling a single pad.

You will need to do it a few times though because it takes alot of practice to play the beat perfectly live

make your drums mono. if you can do your kick and snare first at the same time go for it. . resample some hihats over that. and then more and more and more. mono expands the capabilities on the 404 , which alot of people do not see. hope it helped man .

yes, you can push on "resample" choose a pad to record on, press record and then play all the samples you want which are then recorded to the chosen pad.
no need to go to patternrecording.
if you however want a pattern (cause its a bit easier to build a loop on a set bpm) to be recorded into a sample you will need to record the pattern into a daw, cassetteplayer or other sampler and then samplerecord back into the 404.

a good way to get auto drums, better then mpc note repeat, you just have to loop your drum and adjust the end untill it matches your tempo or untill you achieve a desired rate of auto drumming.
