Now I want to confuse things more - sorry!

But I thought that when you have a pad or key you can apply pressure to and get control (like of vibrato depth) after the initial press is called "After Touch", and it's another midi control different from "Velocity" which is just a measure of how fast you hit the key/pad. 404 midi spec says it ignores Aftertouch but does respond to Velocity.
And there's 2 kinds of Aftertouch - polyphonic and global. Poly has pressure sensors for every key/pad (expensive to do) and Global is one sensor under the whole thing.

It looks like by "Pressure Sensitive", they mean "Aftertouch" - but why don't they call it that? Some equipment specs also say "Pressure Sensitive" when they definately must only mean "Velocity Sensitive". If they're out to confuse me - they've succeeded!.

Jim
