I tried remaking this beat by sampling Up on Cripple Creek. I can get it to loop right but i believe the sample was played on a different key. is this something that's not suitable on the sp-404?

its cause its pitched with a turntable, something you can't do on youtube or with the 404, get a turntable with a pitch fader and buy records, or download some software that allows you to pitch digital files "naturally", meaning that as something is played faster, the pitch goes up, and vice versa, like if you were to spin a record really fast on a turntable and it sounded like 200 BPM with the chipmunks singning, there are programs that allow you to pitch with out changing the speed, not all are that great, but some you can hardly tell the difference, but a lot of heads usually opt for the natural pitching offered by a turntable
