Hello, all! i am so impressed by the knowledge & professionalism here!

Using SP 404 sx --

I have a (silly?) question.... I have a good grouping of sounds that I want to save to a fresh, formatted, blank SDHC card. Is it possible to put the new card in to do a backup save? Every time I try switching cards, I lose the sounds that I had (until i put the original card back in).

How do I save sounds from the full SD card on a new card so that I don't have to resample sounds all over again? Is the only way to do this via the wavefile software?

I think you're going to have to transfer them all to your computer/recorder and then send them back to the 404 w/ the new card.

Thank you for the response.... I was kind of thinking that.... I will move the sounds to computer and using the included software, set the sounds up on the new card. I have some choice drum sounds that I like to use so I want to carry them over to a different card since the original is full & I don't want to erase any of the 12 Backup zones.

Ok, so I figured it out..... I loaded the Backup that had the core drum sounds that I like and took the SD Card out. Put card in computer to save the sounds and then took that SD Card out of computer. Then I put the brand new SD card into the computer and I put the sounds that I wanted into the Roland "Import" Folder for the brand new formatted SD Card.

After that, I put the new card into the SP 404sx and performed the Import function. From what I could tell, any blank pads got filled with the next sound so now all the blank pads are grouped together in the last pad banks (I & J).

Managing Wave Files is new territory for me.
