I don't have a mac but on pc you can initialize the card from the software in the computer. You could figure out how to do that and, if that doesn't work, then you might just have a failed memory card. That can happen and it sucks when it does. I lost about 25-30 beats once when the card inside my old 606 failed. When it was connected to the computer I got a similar message to what you're getting. I hope it's not that though. Does it work everywhere else? In your beat machine? In a different card read on a different computer? Try it different places and the weak link should reveal itself.

i don't even try to inizialize the card from the software in the imac, cuz my imac don't read the card and i must save my beatz on the card before try to inizialize the card with the imac... maybe i can save my Roland folder on my friend's pc and then inizialize my card with the imac software... one question man... after i'll do that, i must reformat the card with the 404 and then reload my beatz, when i'll connect my card reader to the imac am i at the starting point?!?

sorry for my bad english, i hope you understand what i mean, peace from Italy.

Yeah if you reformat the card anywhere (software or inside your sp), it'll delete anything that is on it. I'm not sure if I can help you any more to be honest. It sounds like it works in your sp but not in your card reader. Here's what I'd do:

1) Connect it to a friend's card reader and see if it works
2) Connect his card reader to your mac and see if it works
3) See if your card still works in your sp as normal

If you go through these steps, you'll know if the problem is with the card, your mac, or your card reader. If its the card, get a new card. If its the card reader, get a new one that works. If its the mac, try looking up compatability problems with your exact card and card reader and see if there's any drivers or something like that out there to fix it.

its probably because mac uses some crazy unix file systems, not really compatible with pc, not shure if this is your problem, but i have trouble opening zips made on a mac, and i have trouble loading cards formated on a mac on my pc

I use a mac and haven't had issues reading any cards yet. Just make sure the card is formatted in the SP and you should be good to go. I switch between windows and mac and no issues. If I had to guess the issue I would say it's the card.
