Can you sequence the 404 with the QY70 without needing to playing the notes live, like a matrix layout? If so, can you get precise to at least 32 notes? Basically what I wanna do is sequence complex amen drum programs(180+bpm). I can do it on my SX alone, but I need to drop the bpm down and can get aggravating.

If anybody can shed some light on how the QY70 sequences, I'd appreciate it.

in q70 you can do step recording.

wont be a problem at all I think.

remember that you will have to use the buttons on qy70 to trigger 404's samples.

Thanks for the insight mang! Your video is what sparked me to grab a QY.

no problem

however - what makes qy70 not that good for sequencing sp-404 or any other sp is its tracks' fixed midi channel.

on qy70 you cannot mute individual midi notes ( samples ), you mute tracks only. The bad thing is that each track have different midi channel, and you cannot change it. So what you can do with qy70 sequencing comes down to real time muting/soloing 2 additional tracks only which sucks pretty bad.

I see that on rm1x you have a lot better options - thanks for the video Meecek!
I'd suggest you getting rm1x then Jiggity

Does anyone know if the qy100 has this same issue?

I just got a Qy100 and from what I understand, track 1 controls banks a-e and track 2 controls f- j, so you can mute/solo these two groups of banks from the SP. I'm still getting the hang of this but its all what I expected it to be and more. With the SX and QY, it's an Amen.

I'd like to hear more about the qy70 and qy100...especially as to the advantages of the 100 over the 70.

Just won a qy70 on ebay.

I figure if it was worth a look for Thom Yorke, Bjork, and Jah Wobble then I'd like to see what I might be able to get out of it.
