so i dont know if anyone has really talked about this method. I have recently started to do it, sometimes its good, sometimes its bad.
so instead of resampling to one pad, with the polyphony restrictions, you "resample" to the pattern sequencer. turn the sequencer bpm all the way down, then the bar limit all the way up (99). so you have a ton of time. keep the quantize off.
once the sequencer starts recording you just play live. then you can go back and layer other things, resample pieces and switch them out, and change the volume of pieces.
or you can play your resampled beat to the sequencer, then layer there without having to continue resampling. probably could be explained bettr... give it a shot

A clever bit of lateral thinking!

I'd hate to have to delete the odd bad hit in the sequencer, but if you record it all into a DAW later, you can just cut your mistakes out of the jam.

Cheers

Yeah, I record like this sometimes. The main problem with this method is if you want to add a sample or instrument in the middle or end of the "pattern," you will have to wait a couple minutes each time... It can be very time consuming.

If you happen to have a separate multi-track recorder (I have a 16 track), you can do the same thing on there and its easier since you can fast-forward and navigate way better.
