Whats up fellow SP users, a while back I posted a thread stating my memory had been lost on my 2 1Gig Sandisk cards. Now the problem I have is when I try to format the cards they won't work. I insert a card and all the memory is on bank A and B, which still contains my old samples but it won't allow me to push bank C, D, , E, F, ect. So I refer to the manual and follow directions....hold down cancel then push remain and rather then the bank letters flashing to format, only the pads blink for A and B bank and I still can't push bank C for instance. Anyone else have this problem? Please help, any advice would be most apprieciated, thanks

it sounds like either your files are in the wrong place or the cards are dead... but two cards dieing would be weird...

no clue other than that... the files go on the Main page" not in a folder.. if there are no files on the card i dont think it registers that there is a card (not letting you press the other banks.)

welcome to the club...

- AB banks work fine? - effects work fine? - but nada on other banks?

- I went through about 10 cards - diff brands and sizes --I had saved - all no go.

It was formatting some cards but then it was not recognising when I re-inserted them - then not recognising them as being able to format.

The fault with mine was the main board fried - cost to repair - by roland - was equal 2/3s price of a new 404.

I have 2 (maybe I should say 1.5) 404s now - one works as an effects box and digital recorder of loops for the other.

Sorry, to hear that Bishojo. But now you can throw a mixer in the middle and get down like that.

I feel you Bishojo, I'm the same way but I aim to change day by day.

yeah, I'm having the same problem. I tried to put some samples on my memory card then when I put it back in I couldn't access any of the memory card banks. I tried moving them around then deleting them too, still with no success. Have you figured anything out?

It seems like these problems stem from the memory cards people use in their 404's. I know the the 303 can only handle a 64mb card at the largest and 3.3v specifically. Maybe if you go to rolands site and try initializing the mem. card then installing and a fresh copy of the latest O.S. that might help.
