Image

i got the sp running thru the mpc cuz i wana tweak da samples but use the mpc sequencer. my first question is what cable should i put in what input or output so dat i can use both machines while still being able to use the two inputs for da two turntables? is it possible or do i have to disconnect and reconnect cables when ever i feel like scratchin?

my second question is, with the equipment i already hav, does anyone have suggestions on what recording gear i should use if i wana edit, remix, record all at once? wit da shit i have wat would b better, a hardware multitrack recorder or a pc software?

hmm... what do you use to amplify your stuff?
If you got a amplifier or a stereo system with at least 2 inputs I would go like this:

1.)
For scratching only use the main output of your mixer and connect it with
your amplifier... (lets say input 1)

2.)
For sampling use the tape out->404->mpc -> amplifier (input 2)

If you don't have 2 inputs on your soundsystem you'll have to go the second way...

For equipment I would recommend a small mixer ... maybe with sub groups so you can route everything directly to your sp (-> mpc).

For recording I'ld say make your experiences with software... but if you want it hardcore analog look out for a multitracker... I prefer software at this point.

What's that output between master and tape out?

Reading your post, I believe you said you have the sp running through the mpc. It looks like your mixer is a 3 channel (i.e. three upfaders). If the sp is running through the mpc, plus the out of the mpc into line input 1 (far right in the pic), then plug in your turntables to the 2 phono inputs on 2 and 3. Thats it.
